Election commission to deploy armed forces for polls in HP

Shimla: Election commission will deploy Central Armed and Paramilitary Forces in Himachal Pradesh to ensure free and fair polls, functionary of commission informed.  Chief Electoral Officer Narinder Chauhan said that on the request of election commission of India, (ECI) six training companies of Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) would be provided to the government of Himachal Pradesh by the Ministry of Home Affairs from 27th November, 2011 for bye- election duty in the state to ensure free and fair elections.

He said that out of these six companies five would be de-inducted after completion of polls on 30th November, 2011, while one company would be de-inducted on 4th December, 2011 after the counting process in both the assembly segments.
