Higher reaches of Himachal experiencing snowfall, Pangi and Leh road disrupted

Shimla: High reaches of Himachal were experiencing snowfall and rain showers lashed downstream following western disturbance as weather turn partly cloudy in the state today. Lady of Keylong and Chokhang and Seven Sisters hills in Lahaul Spiti were getting snowfall thus increasing cold wave in the district. Sources from Snow and Avalanche Study Establishment (SASE) confirmed snowfall in  Rohtang Pass and Petsio.

Meanwhile search Operation to trace the pilot of MIG 29 were hampered as it was snowing at Chokang hills near Thirot in Lahaul valley as informed by Public Relations Officer, Sher Singh to HimVani.

Report received from Chamba said that it was drizzling since early morning and tourists resort Dalhousie got 1.1 mm rainfall. Vehicular traffic to Pangi valley and Leh was disrupted with Sachapass in Pangi receiving 1 feet snowfall.  Heavy rainfall was also reported from Manali and other parts of Kullu district.

Keylong was coldest in the state with minimum temperature at 1.8 degree Celsius, Kalpa in Kinnuar 3.3 degrees, Solan 8 degrees, Bhuntar 9 degrees, Sundernagar 10 degrees, Shimla and Mandi 12 degrees, Dharamshala 14 degrees, Una 15 degrees and Nahan 21 degrees respectively.
