Shimla: Zuzana Sulcova, who had got stuck at a inaccessible and isolated hill above Yacha village in Lahaul valley while paragliding on Monday afternoon, was rescued by a police team on Tuesday evening.
Deputy Superintendent of Police, Keylong, Khajana Ram, who led the 15 member police team for rescue operation, said it took five hours to rescue the foreigner as the spot was on a hill, located at 4000 metres height from the village.
Zuzana had taken off from Keylong in her paraglider on Monday along with a foreigner friend. While her friend, landed in a village around Darcha, 32 kilometres from Lahaul Spiti headquarters, Keylong. She couldn’t land at a proper place and got stuck over a hill on Yacha village, which is 15 kilometres across a gauge from Darcha. Zuzana’s friend, who had come back to Keylong on Monday night informed the local police, following which a search party was sent to the spot on Tuesday morning.
It is worth mentioning that in last two months, the Lahaul police has done two tough rescues. On August 14, the cops led by the Superitendant of Police Vimal Gupta had saved seven lives at an accident site of a cultural troupe from Leh in which 15 persons were killed.
