Shimla (Sept 30): Shimla Police today claimed to have seized 160 boxes of illicit
liquor after chasing a vehicle in the district.
SP Shimla Sonal Agnihotri said that police chased a pickup jeep after being informed about illegal liquor being smuggled in the vehicle, but the driver managed to abandon the vehicle near Dargi on the Sunni road, seeing a police vehicle behind him. On searching the vehicle, a heavy catchment of illicit
liquor was found. A case under the Excise Act was registered at the Dhalli police station, he added.
