Manali (Sept 26): Acting tough on encroachments, Manali nagar parishad today demolished temporary shops built over encroached land along road sides.
Shopkeepers had earlier been issued notices to remove their illegal shops, following which action was taken against those who did not pay heed to the warning. Sources said some prominent buildings and shopping complex built against the guidelines of town and country planning too are under the scanner. Manali nagar parishad executive officer VK Sharma said illegal shops were removed after serving them seven-day legal notice.
