Woman arrested with fake currency



Kangra (Aug 21): Kangra police has arrested a 60-year-old woman and recovered fake currency worth Rs 59,500 from her possession. SDPO Dinesh Kumar said yesterday a woman identified as Satinder Kaur, a resident of Gagret in Una district, made some purchases in Mandir Bazaar area of the town. Ajay Kumar, a vigilant shopkeeper suspected that a Rs 500 note given by the woman was fake. He detained the woman and informed the police.

Police rushed to the spot and recovered Rs 59,500 of Rs 500 denomination from her possession. A case under sections 489-B and 489-C of IPC was registered against Kaur. Further investigation was on, police added.
