Shimla (Aug 21): The court of additional special judge, Mandi, jailed a senior revenue officer of the state for two years after convicting him for indulging in misappropriation of public funds.
The accused, Mohinder Singh, naib tehsildar, Kotli in Mandi district, was also fined Rs 50,000, a spokesman of the state anti-corruption bureau said. A case was registered against the accused in 2005 under Prevention of Corruption Act for giving utilization certificates for repair of patwarkhana buildings whereas no repair actually was undertaken. Investigation and persecution substantiated the allegations that the accused indulged in misappropriation of money sanctioned for repair of the patwarkhana buildings.
