HPVHA to get WHO award for anti-tobacco campaign

Shimla (Aug 21): Himachal Pradesh Voluntary Health Association has been selected for this year’s World Health Organisation award for Anti-tobacco campaign in India beside three others states.

Talking to HimVani, Narinder Sharma, excutive director, HPVHA, said that the Prime Minister would honour the organisation for excellent work in the field of anti-tobacco campaign, especially to made Shimla and other townships smoke-free and discourage smoking by increasing taxation on tobacco products. He said that Gujarat and Maharashtra are the two others state that have been selected for this honour by the WHO.
