Shimla (Aug 17): Himachal Pradesh unit of Anti-terrorist Front and Shimla Bar Association today held protests in support of Anna Hazare here this morning.
About 450 Shimla Bar Association members held a protest march from deputy commissioner’s office on the Mall, through the high court gate, finally dispersing at the statute of Mahatma Gandhi on the Ridge. The lawyers were carrying Tricolors and banners supporting Anna Hazare’s crusade against corruption.
Similarly, the Anti-terrorist Front organized a similar protest rally which began from Tutu and walked up to the high court before reaching the DC office. Anti-terrorist Front convener Harish Verma said that the Union government was creating unnecessary hassles in the way of Anna Hazare, which showed its lack of respect for Gandhian ideology and principals.
Heavy security arrangements have been made by the district administration to meet with any eventuality in case of pretests.
