Dehragopipur (July 28): Rajya Sabha MP and former Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh offered prayers at Baglamukhi shrine at Dehragopipur in Kangra district today.

Amar Singh, along with actress-turned-politician Jaya Prada, arrived in Himachal Pradesh’s Kangra district and both performed special prayers in the morning. It’s believed that Maa Baglamukhi is worshipped to immobilise evil forces and to keep enemies at the bay. Amar Singh has been facing allegations of bribing three Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs to save the Congress-led central government during the 2008 trust vote row investigate by CBI.

Maa Baglamukhi is considered the eighth manifestation of Lord Vishnu. One of the busiest shrines in north India, a majority of the pilgrims, especially politicians, go there from Punjab, Haryana and New Delhi.

  1. Good to see that Amar Singh is looking to alternates to fight against odds. Better than ending up in an hospital with chest pain!!
