Army chief may make Dharamshala his home

Dharamshala (July 1): Army chief Gen VK Singh appears to be mesmerized by the beauty of the might Dhauladhar mountains and may spend his retirement days right under the shadows of these mountains. Gen Singh is said to have bought one canal land at Tapovan, right opposite the new Vidhan Sabha complex.

General Singh had recently visited The Rising Star Corps and had even met some od his old friends who have settled here. Besides Gen Singh, Lt gen Balraj Singh and Lt gen JS Grewal too are said to have land in the same area. There are around 6 other three-star generals who have bought land around Dharamshala, besides many others sernior officers from the Army. The trend seems to have taken up following Yol Cantonment becoming the headquarters for the Rising Star Corps.
