Shimla: Hundreds of tourists were stranded near Rohtang Pass in Kullu district since Wednesday evening as landslides and slush came down on the road. However, all the stranded people were rescued after the road connectivity between Rohtang Pass and Manali was restored, SDM Kullu Balbir Thakur informed.

He said the traffic was restored, but the movement of vehicles was at a snail’s pace due to accumulation of slush on the highway.  “It’s still not advisable for the motorists to travel towards Rohtang Pass from Manali,” he added. Kullu Deputy Commissioner B M Nanta told Himvani that they were stuck as landslides triggered by heavy rains damaged the road connectivity between this town and the Rohtang Pass at Raninalah.
