Flight to Shimla cancelled after foggy weather

Shimla: Flights to this capital town had to be cancelled today, as airport was enveloped in thick fog since last evening, concerned airline official said here today.

While talking to Himvani, Kingfisher Airport Manager at Jubberhati Shashi Sharma said that due to low visibility and thick cloud over the sky, the scheduled flights Delhi-Shimla and back Shimla-Delhi had to be canceled this morning. He said that airline’s other flights Delhi-Kullu, Kullu-Delhi, Dehli-Dharamshala and Dharamshala-Delhi were operated as per schedule.

Amid thick fogy weather rain showers lashed this capital town in noon while Sujanpur Tira in Hamirpur had 66 mm rain, Nadoan 17 mm and Kasol 9 mm. In Kangra district Palampur 29 mm, Baijnath 26 mm, Dharmashala 10 mm and Mehre 9mm. In Mandi district, town recorded 23 mm rain, Pandoh-17mm, Sunderngar 16 mm, Manali 11mm. District Rampur received 5 mm and Shimla town received 4.6 mm respectively.
