Asha Swarup tipped to be Himachal chief secretary


New Delhi: Sources in the Central government have disclosed that Asha Swarup, secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, will be taking over as the new chief secretary of Himachal Pradesh. Swarup will be taking over from 1972-batch IAS officer Ravi Dhingra. A 1973-batch IAS officer of Himachal Pradesh cadre, Swarup had taken up the role of I&B secretary on April 4, 2007. She was earlier special secretary and financial advisor to the Department of Commerce and Ministry of Textiles.
