Shimla: High Court of Himachal Pradesh has stayed the cancellation of empanelment of Indus hospital for medical reimbursement of government employees.

The Division Bench comprising Chief Justice Kurian Joseph and Justice V.K. Sharma passed this order on the petition of the Indus hospital and directed the Principal Secretary (Health) to the Government of H.P. and the Director (Health Safety Regulation) to file their replies. The government had cancelled the empanelment of Indus hospital on the ground that it did not have two full-time MBBS resident medical officers and had inadequate manpower. The hospital submitted that the action was taken by the government without any notice to them and as and when the mandatory requirement was brought to its notice, the hospital appointed two full time MBBS resident medical officers. The case has now been fixed for next hearing on August 18, 2011.

  1. The secretary loves to be in the court so often. His hasty and impulsive actions are well intended and perceived clearly by the people in beurocracy. He is the person who also showed much haste in mushrooming Universities. Government of the people must have a check on such officers.
