Shimla (Jun 9): Himachal Pradesh is developing seven bus terminals on public-private partnership (PPP) mode and will also be developing other such terminals in future. Disclosing tis, Bharat Khera, Managing Director, Himachal Road Transport Corporation durign an interactive session on “PPP Model for the Development of Bus terminals in Himachal Pradesh” organised by the PHD Chamber here on Thursday, these projects are on a design, build, operate and transfer (DBOT) basis for which forest and land clearance for the projects have already been taken and the construction period has been fixed as one year.
“Himachal Pradesh is one of the fastest emerging investment destinations for its attractive investment policy, peaceful
environment, favorable climatic conditions, availability of power and low power tariffs. PHD Chamber can play a major role in formulating strategy in the PPP mode and implementing the project within a
particular time period,” he said
Suman Jyoti Khaitan, Vice-president, PHD Chamber, said “Development of bus terminals acts as a catalyst for the development of industry. Himachal Pradesh has taken a very important step in this direction by promoting PPP in the transport sector.”
