Another sub-committee for Pong Dam oustees


Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh government has decided to constitute yet another sub-committee to listen to the problems and demands of the Pong Dam oustees. Revenue Minister Gulab Singh Thakur said that the demands compiled as such would be taken up for redressal with Rajasthan where the oustees were allotted land for rehabilitation.
Gulab Singh was presiding over the meeting of Pong Dam Oustees Committee. He also underlined the need for rehabilitation of about 4369 affected persons, including some cases rejected under Section 5(2) and 5 (3) of Colonization Rule, 1972 of Rajasthan Government. Over 20,722 families were displaced due to the Pong Dam.
