Dharamshala: Girls have outshone boys in the Class X examination, as 14 girls and only 6 boys bagged 1st ten positions. The matriculation eamination was conducted by the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education in March this year and results were declared today.
Chairman H.P. Board of School Education V.C.Pharka today said that 125155 candidates appeared in the class X examination and 77700 students were declared successful and 22475 candidates were placed under compartment. The pass percentage was 62.08 percent. He said that the merit list of the science students included 20 students bagging first ten positions, which included fourteen girls. Kritika of Lakshya Public School Arki obtained 675 marks and bagged the first position. Aditya Sharma of Minerva Senior Secondary School Ghumarwin and Prateek Thakur of SVM High School Anni scored 674 marks and bagged second position. Ankita of Bright Sun Senior Secondary School Mahre of Hamirpur district obtained 672 marks and bagged third position in the Board examination.
The Chairman disclosed that Bharti Dhalpur Kullu (671) bagged fourth position, Shriya Sarkaghat (668), Shilpa Naliyana Mandi (668) and Manisha Verma Gumarwin ( 668) bagged fifth position, Anita Kumari ( 667)bagged sixth position and Shubham Sood ( 665) and Giresh Nada (665) seventh position. Remaining three positions were bagged by eight students of the state.
