Virbhadra’s Pr. Private Secretary questioned by VB

Shimla: Following the arrest of former minister Singhi Ram and education Board Chairman BR Rahi, now it’s the turn of former Principal Private Secretary of former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh Subhash Ahluwalia to fall in the Vigilance Bureau net. Ahluwalia was reportedly questioned for around six regarding his alleged disproportionate assets. Besides, his wife Meera Ahluwalia was also questioned for her foreign junkets. It is alleged that her foreign jaunts were sponsored.
No case has been registered yet and sources said after being questioned Ahluwalia was given time to present some documents supporting their version in the case.
Ahluwalia was questioned for allegations of disproportionate assets and his wife Meera for her reported travels to USA and Bangkok on sponsored trips without seeking permission of the government. As per the rules, being a government employee she was supposed to seek prior permission of the state government before going on a foreign travel.
The VB is also looking into another set of allegations against Meera Ahluwalia as per which she also acts as a dealer for various commercial products.
Meera Ahluwalia was former principal of Rajkiya Kanya Mahavidyala in Shimla and was recently transferred from here. Earlier, immediately after change of power in the state Subhash, an IAS officer was transferred, as settlement officer, Kangra.
Meanwhile, in the forged marks sheet case under investigation by the VBthe prime accused Singhi Ram and BR Rahi were admitted to Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital, today. The court had remanded both to police custody till April 16 and had in its order directed that both be treated at IGMCH in case of ill health, said SP Vigilance AP Singh.
