Chamba (May 22): Two families were rendered homeless as a fire broke out in at Rakh village, 20 km from here, last night, government officials confirmed.
Sub-divisonsal Officer Rohit Rathore told HimVni that two houses belonging to Pradeep Soni and Sunil Soni of Rakh villages caught fire at around 2.30 am last night. The entire village rushed to douse the flames but could not succeed.
Two fire tenders were also deployed but it was too late. The SDM ordered a
probe into the incident.
In another mishap, a pick-up jeep fell down a hill while the driver was negotiating a blind curve on Lachodi Salva road this morning. The driver of the vehicle Arvind Kumar, son of Nilmani, was killed on the spot. SP
