Dhaaramsala (May 17): Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) will promote Dharamsala cricket stadium as a leisure club as well very soon. This was stated by HPCA president Anurag Thakur here today while interacting with media persons.
Announcing his plans, Anurag said that HPCA will offer memberships for the club to limited number of people in and out of the state at a prices ranging from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 2.50 lakh for a period of 30 years. He added that since crores have been spent on developing state-of-the-art infrastructure in Dharamsala stadium, therefore, the amount fixed was justifiable and a professional company has been roped in to carry out the whole process of marketing the membership concept and shortlisting members for the first phase, wherein around 200 people will be given memberships.
He further stated that the members would be entitled to bouquet of sporting activities like snooker, swimming, volleyball, etc. Along with bar & restaurant facility and furthermore there will be around 20 rooms, which would be used to rent out to members at nominal price.
At the informal press conference, the HPCA president also wooed select media persons by giving away free passes to them and also sought their views on the arrangements for the current IPL season.
