Centre gives sanction for first women battalion to Himachal


Shimla:The center government has given sanction for setting up state’s first women battalion, said Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal today. The battalion said Dhumal woudl be set up in Bilaspur.
He was making a suo moto statement in the H.P. Vidhan Sabha House Dhumal today. Dhumal said that the centre governmnet would sahre 75 per cent of the expenditure to set up the battalion, amounting Rs. 12.75 crore and also Rs. 15 crore of capital expenditure. About 1007 posts of various categories in the battalion would be filled up in the next two years. This is the fifth battalion in the state and second one to be sanctioned by the centre to Himachal Pradesh within this year.
