Dharamshala (May 10): Dehra police today seized eighty tins of ‘biroza’ during a nakka at Chhurni mode falling under Sansarpur police post and nabbed three alleged smugglers involved in the crime, police said here today.

Kangra district police chief Deljit Singh Thakur said that in the wee hours of today, a nakka party headed by ASI Rakesh Kumar stopped a vehicle and recovered 80 tins containing 1,360 kgs of ‘biroza’ being carried illegally. He said the material was being smuggled from Souel Khad to Hoshiyarpur in Punjab.

He said three people identified as Malkiat Singh of village Jabbar, Vinod Kumar Sharma and Nek Mohammad, both residents of village Dangoh of Una district, were arrested under Section 379 IPC and 41 and 42 of Indian Forest Act in this connection.
