6 vehicles gutted as fuel tanker catches fire

    Shimla (May 10): Six vehicles, including two scooter, a jeep, car and a truck, besides an eatery and another shop were gutted while a parked petrol tanker caught fire in the wee hours this morning at Baner in Bilaspur district, official sources told HimVani.

    Fire officer Prem Lal Thakur said that a petrol tanker (HP-69-0756), belonging to Raman Anand Filling Station in main market, Bilaspur, caught fire at 3.30 am this morning. The inferno suddenly swelled, engulfing other vehicles parked there. Two fire tenders rushed to the spot and took about an hour to control the flames. He said that preliminary loss of Rs 25 lakh was reported.
