Shimla: JaiPrakash Power Venture Limited executing Baspa-II hydro electric project (300mw) at Karchham area in Kinnuar district has warned the general public that monsoon flood could hit the down stream of Baspa river due to rise of water level in the upstream between May/June to Oct 2011.
President of Baspa power station at Karchham said that water level near Kuppa bridge could rise any time. He cautioned the general public living on the bank of river to take precaution during this period. The power company has issued advisory to public that it would not be responsible if flood leads to any accident. JP Company’s Baspa project was commissioned about 12 years ago while its another project on Satluj river, Karchham Wangto 1300 mw is likely to be commissioned soon.
