Mandi: Addressing a state-level conference of Mahila Morcha at Sundernagar organized to motivate and exhort the women force, former National BJP President made a clarion call to root out the scourge of corruption.
Referring to the recent developments pertaining to PAC headed by Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi, he lamented that India had been exposed to mockery among the communities of democratic countries and earned the notoriety of a country of scams. Those in power were acting as powerful stumbling blocks in the way of bringing the corrupt to book. The party whose member was behind the bars under one of the biggest scams was sabotaging the efforts of punishing the guilty. He also accused the UPA government of shielding the corrupt persons. He said UPA was a government of mega-scams where thousands of cores of rupees had been squandered during the recent Common Wealth Games alone tarnishing the image of the country.
Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal recalled that the NDA government at the center led by Visionary Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee, was the golden era in country’s history when the prices were under control and the economy had been brought back to rails. State president Mahila Morcha Meera Anand came down heavily on the UPA government alleging that widespread corruption had caused inflation and had made the life of a common man unbearable.
