Himachal gets PM sward for excellence in public administration

Shimla (April 21): Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh while presiding over the function on the occasion of Civil Services Day at New Delhi today gave away Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration for the year 2009-2010 to Himachal Pradesh.

The award was received by Sarojini Ganju Thakur, additional chief secretary, environment, science & technology, on behalf of the Department of Environment, Science & Technology, government of HP.

State chief secretary Rajwant Sandhu informed that the Department of Environment, Science & Technology under the ‘organization category’ was conferred the Prime Minister Award for Excellence in Public Administration for the year 2009-2010 for `Sustainable Plastic Waste Management in Himachal Pradesh: From Concept to Policy’.
