PWD official held taking bribe in Solan



Solan (Apr 8): On a day the whole nation is protesting against corruption, Himachal Pradesh State Vigilance and Anti-corruption Bureau nabbed a Public Works Department executive engineer (XEN P/R), BR Dhiman, while he was taking bribe from a contractors this morning.

DSP (SV&ACB Solan) Ramesh Sharma said that a team led by him caught the official red-handed in his office at Solan today while he was taking Rs 20,000 (in denomination of Rs 1,000) from a contractor hailed form Punjab to clear pending bills. Earlier the contractor had complained before SA&ACB that the officer was demanding bribe from him. After booking the accused under sections 7 and 13(2) of Prevention of Corruption Act, he was put behind the bars.
