Free clean drinking water facility at HPTDC hotels in Himachal



The Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation  has installed water dispensers with water filters and purifiers in premises of HPTDC hotels. In the first phase this facility has been provided at Goofa-Ashiana, Shimla, Manali, Dharamsala and Dalhousie Complexes for the use of tourists and general public. This information was shared today by Vineet Kumar, Managing Director today in Shimla. He further said that similar facilities are being provided at HPTDC properties in Barog, Kiarighat, Fagu, Bilaspur and Hamirpur. The servce has been started in these properties as they are situated on the highways and large number of tourists pass through these properties.

This facility will be free of cost, as a goodwill gesture from HPTDC. HTDC also hope to reduce to the use of plastic bottles by providing clean drinking water to the tourists and general public. Mr. Vineet Kumar also said that the hotels where filters have been installed, sign boards stating “ Filtered water is available and the guests may re-fill their bottles instead of buying mineral water to minimize the use of plastic bottles”, are being installed.
