Shimla wakes up to dance under white flakes

Shimla: Residents of Shimla, woke up to surprise, with white flakes of snow falling and painting the city white. However, the joy was momentary as it just snowed for about one-hour in the main city.

However, upper regions of Shimla received adequate snowfall for the mirth of tourists who were seen breaking into a dance and throwing snowballs at each other in Kufri.

It was season’s first snowfall for the city. With global warming, in the past few years, it generally snowed in late January. However, this year’s snowfall, in December itself, though meagre, came as a surprise. But the farmers and apple orchard owners felt that the snow-gods just flattered to deceive. Farmers in Himachal Pradesh have been eagerly waiting for rain or snow for long now.
