Shimla (March 22): Rakesh Puri of Institute of Hotel Management, Kufri, has 
been awarded a national award for best teacher for excellence in hospitality education for 2009-2010, which would be given to him at the Institute of Hotel Management, Pusa, New Delhi, on March 24.
Puri has been working at IHM Kufri since July 1984. He joined the institute as senior lecturer and was promoted as head of the department on 20th February, 2008. He has also worked as Chef D’etage at Gauer Hotel Schweizerhof, Bern, Switzerland from June, 1981 to May 1982.
Puri has authored books on hotel front office operations, hotel front office management, hotel accounts, food and beverage control, food and beverage management, etc.
