Road transport guidelines for campaigning



Shimla: The Election Commission of India has prohibited plying of convoys of more than three vehicles during campaigning for Himachal Pradesh polls.State chief electoral officer Manisha Nanda said in a statement, “All bigger convoys would be broken up, even if they are carrying any minister of Central or state government or any other person.”
Nanda said in case road transport is to be availed by the leaders of political parties, the permit will be issued by the chief electoral officer, irrespective of whether the same vehicles is to be used by any leader for election campaign throughout the state or different vehicles are to be used by any such leaders in different areas. Only one party flag can be hosted on the vehicle of a political leader.
