515 cases of stamp duty undervaluation identified in Himachal

Shimla: State Renvue Minsiter Gulab Singh Thakur stated in a written reply to  Rajesh Dharmani (Cong.-Ghumarwin) during the question hour today that Himachal Pradesh government has traced out as many as 515 cases of undervaluation of stamp duty and registration fee in five districts. These have come to notice in the state under section 47-A of Indian Stamp Act 1899 and HP Stamp (Prevention of under valuation of Instruments) Rules 1992.

He said that Sirmour and Solan district top among the stamp duty and registration fee evaders, as 173 cases were traced in Sirmour district, 158 in Solan. Meanwhile, Kangra got 98 cases and Una and Mandi 57 and 29 respectively out of which 65 cases were being disposed off and 450 were still pending in the court.
