Hamirpur (Feb 27): Sarv kalyankari sabha, a social organization dealing with the welfare and well-being of the poorest among poor masses, honored about 360 newly-elected Panchayati Raj functionaries of Sujanpur Tira block of Hamirpur district at a function held on Sunday. Rajendra Rana, president of the Sabha, was the chief guest on this occasion. For the first time in the history of the district, any social organization held a function in which winners were honored irrespective of their party affiliation.
While addressing the audience, Rana said that the main aim of the organization was to help the poor and needy persons and the Sabha had already provided benefits to hundreds of poor people to educate their wards or to marry their daughters. He said the newly-elected PRI functionaries were honoured on the basis of their performance.
