Shimla (Feb 27): Public sctor unit Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd (SJVNL), currently operating 1500-mega watt Nathpa-Jhakri Hydropower Project in Himachal Pradesh, would get a new chief managing director as the incumbent CMD has been discharged off his assingment, a company official said here today.
According to Officail spokepesons of SJVNL, tenure of CMD HK Sharma, who was holding this post for last five year did not further extended. His tenure had ended in July 2010 but he was given a three-month extension time and again.
The official said the central government ceased the tenure of Sharma as he was facing allegations of financial irregularities and the matter was being investigated by the Central Vigilance Commission.
Vijay Verma, deputy general manager of SJVNL, told HimVani that RS Katoch, SJVNL’s director (personnel), has been given the charge of officiating CMD but he is also retiring February 28, 2011. Company sources said director (electrical) RP Singh would likely to be given the officiating CMD charge on Katoch’s retirement.
