Shimla: Claiming control over rampant misappropriation prevailing in Public Distribution System (PDS) of the state, Food & Civil Supplies Minister Ramesh Dhawala today reported hammering down of bulk misuse of subsidized domestic LPG gas supply by cartels of business establishments. In addition, 6900 fake ration cards have also been cancelled.
Known for clean stint, Ramesh Dhawala claimed here today that taking concrete measures after conducting regular inspections to put a check on hoarding and black marketing of subsidized domestic LPG cylinders, department has registered hike in the sale of commercial LPG cylinders with a leap of 7000 new connections after plugging its pilferage. Presiding a progress meeting by the department here today, he said that a campaign has been launched against misuse of domestic cylinders for commercial purposes. He added that it has proven fruitful, as its sale has gone up to 69962 commercial cylinders in yr-2010-11 against 29699 in 2009-10.
