Shimla: Sheetal Verma from Dharamshala was crowned Miss Himachal-2011 by Miss India world 2010 Manasvi Mamgai at the Gaiety Theatre here on Sunday. Shimla’s Vishakha Kapoor was declared first runners-up, while Bilaspur’s Apurva Sharma was placed as second runners-up.
Sheetal Verma is flanked by first runners-up Vishakha Kapoor and second runners-up Apoorva Sharma.
The show started from introduction of participants followed by ‘Ganeshvandhana.” As 20 short listed models across the state walked down the ramp, they were welcomed by the audience with applauses and whistles. The final leg comprised of various rounds, like Himachali attire and traditional dress’
State AIDS Control Society not only sponsored the show, but also used this platform to create awareness among participants and audience after pinning a red ribbon to all the judges and audience alike. INIFD( National Institute of Fashion Designing), Kangra had designed special Himachali and traditional costume for participants. The prominent amongst the jury was Famine Miss India World, Manasvi Mamgai. Perplexed after getting the crown, Sheetal Verma noted that she achieved this languish goal after toiling hard for last ten years. While responding to query about her priority after getting Miss Himachal title, she said that she wanted to work for the empowerment of woman in man dominated society by working for their upliftment.

6 top contestants among 20 finalists have good news to them as there toil is also proven fruitful to them. The six top performers braved subzero temperature of Shimla after cladding single or thin clothes or costume at Gaiety Theater would get direct entry into Miss India contests

sheetal deserv for that but apoorva doeas not because she is divorcy and i dnt think so that this contest is for divorcy ……….this is a big partiality….and approched…i am not agree with this………and nobody will take part ib this contest…..next time..
