Shimla: Power supply to many villages and towns in the state remained disrupted forcing people to lead a problematic life, as they had to brave chilling weather conditions in Shimla and Lahaul Spiti.
The power also remained erratic in most parts of the district and in capital town on Saturday and Sunday. Electricity could not be restored in Chopal and Jubbal subdivision. According to government officials, snowbound Lahaul Spiti is worst hit due to darkness, as the electricity has not been restored till today. The officials said that even mobile towers might have been damaged by recent heavy snowfall and snow storm, damaging mobile phone connectivity. In addition, due to lack of electricity supply people have not been able to charge their phones.
