Himachal govt earmarks Rs 742 Cr for SC sub-plan

Shimla: Enhancing budgetary provisions for Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan from 11 to 25 percent, state government claimed that it has earmarked Rs 742 crore for development and allied activities in scheduled caste dominated villages. This was stated by Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal in 5th Meeting of Himachal Pradesh Scheduled Caste Welfare Board, held at Dharamshala. The enhancement is given as census reveals that population of SCs in the state has gone to 15 lakh consisting of 56 sub-castes.
