Dharamshala: After foreign currency haul at Gyuto Tantric Monastery, the transit camp of Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje, district administration is transferring its ownership to the state government which has earlier got mutation under Tibetan Administration in revenue records, while retaining the possession with occupants, official said.
District Administration recently released a list of 73 properties most of them illegally occupied by Tibetan living in asylum including Gyuto Tantric Monastery belonging to 17th Karmapa, Ogyen Trinely Dorje. According to Deputy Commissioner Kangra R.S.Gupta, it has already apprised Dalai Lamba’s administration that as many as 73 such properties are being raised by Tibetan people on government land, including the sprawling premises of Gyuto Monastery having revenue entry in the name of Tibetan administration, which would be transferred to state government retaining its possession with the occupants. Deputy Commissioner said that properties are now being transferred in the name of the government, which is normal process for the administration.
The government had agreed to consider regularisation of these ‘benami’ (unclear ownership) properties by vesting the ownership in the government and further leasing these out to Tibetan Administration, he added. District administration had already taken the possession of its ownership, transferring title to state government in 40 cases while remaining process is being completed.
