Shimla: A meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Director, Youth Services and Sports J.R. Katwal, last evening at HP PWD rest house Rajgarh in connection with the preparation of 14th all India Dr. Y.S. Parmar Volleyball tournament at Rajgarh from 25 to 27th Feb., 2011.
He informed that in this tournament 120 international and national players and 40 officials of 11 teams, seven men and four women are participating. The meeting was attended by officers from Revenue, Forest, PWD, IPH, Health, Electricity Board and Nagar Panchayat and some other decisions were also taken. He said that organising committee was constituted to make various arrangements for the smooth conduct of the tournament. This committee has included officers from various departments like Revenue, Forest, PWD, IPH, Health, Electricity Board and Nagar Panchayat. Sixty rooms in hotels and rest houses will be needed to house the participants. These rooms have been identified and will be taken by the organising Committee from 24th to 27th February. He said that the event will be organised in Rajgarh stadium where three volleyball courts will be prepared, two for competition and one for practice. The pavilion in the stadium will be cleaned and white washed and other civic facilities will be provided by the Nagar Panchayat. The Trophies and cash prizes in men and women will be awarded to the winning teams, he added.
