Himachal gets two Vedic institutes; first in the state

Una: The state’s first Vedic institute was inaugurated yesterday in Una district here in Mahesh Nagar Oyal (Gagret). The institute is part of the Government of India funded programme – Maharishi Sandipani Rashtriya Veda Vidya Pratishthan – to develop Sanskrit and other classical languages.

About 15 students below the age of nine were enrolled on the first day in the institute.

Another Vedic institute that was inaugurated today in the district itself has come up in Kotla. Education in both the institutes would be imparted on Gurukul tradition.

The institutes and its hostels would have all the modern facilities and the students, besides Vedic education, would be taught English and computers as well.
