Shimla: Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal laid the foundation stone of science block of National Institute of Technology yesterday, thereby adding another milestone to the quality infrastructure in the national level vocational education institution at Hamirpur. The new block is estimated to cost Rs 7.96 crore and provide students all research, development and related facilities under one roof.
Chief Minister also complimented the NIT management for creation of quality infrastructure, which would immensely help the students in carrying their scientific and other research work more conveniently. He said that the NIT had come up as a National-Level vocational educational institution in the state, which had earned its name at the national level for quality education. He said that the students passing out of the Institute were availing hundred percent placement facilities with organistions of repute. He hoped that with the completion of new complex the Institute would further upgrade its educational standard to match global standards so that youth passing out of the Institute were acknowledged at national and international level as high professionals.
