Atal Bijli Yojna saves electricity worth Rs 100 crore

Shimla: 270 MU of  electricity worth Rs 100 crore had been saved in one year by implementing ‘Atal Bijli Bachat Yojna’ in the state besides contributing significantly towards the protection of environment. This was stated by Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, while addressing ‘Prashashan Janta Ke Dwar’ programme at Bari Pharnohal in district Hamirpur yesterday after he laid foundation-stone of PHC at Dhaned estimated at a cost of Rs39 lakh.

Chief Minister said that state had provided four CFL bulbs free of cost to every domestic consumer by spending about Rs 65 crore over the same. He said that the scheme had benefited domestic consumers immensely and saved electricity worth Rs 100 crore in one year. He said that state government was carrying out development by rising above political and other considerations. He said that speedy development of the State was being ensured. He urged the people to work in close coordination for speedy development of their area.
