PIB honours INA freedom fighter



Dehra: Soldier of Second World War and freedom fighter of Himachal Pradesh Pritivi Singh was honoured by Press Information Bureau Shimla unit at the Bharat Nirman Jansuchana Abhiyan function at Shaid Bhuvneshwar Singh Ground at Dehra.

Prithivi Singh of Indian Natinal Army (INA) is from Dehra subdivision of Kangra district. Himachal Pradesh food and Civil Supply Minister Ramesh Dhawala, chief guest at this function felicitated Prithavi Singh. The audience gave him standing ovation when he was being taken to the state by an escort. Later, freedom fighter showcased his rarest medal and citations when people took keen interest on them. Octogenarian INA soldier did not get any pension from the Indian Army as he had rebelled British Raj Indian Army before joining INA. When a local youth reported in the PIC that he was living in pathetic conditions, he was immediately invited with great honour in the function yesterday.
