Dehra: Three days long Public Information Campaign, PIC is being organised by Press Information Bureau Shimla at Dehra in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. It is scheduled to be held from February 9 to 11, 2011.
This was disclosed by Subdivision Officer Dehra Rakesh Sharma while addressing a press conference held here today. He said that basic purpose of the PIC also known as “Bharat Nirman Jan Suchana Abhiyan” is to make the common men especially in the rural areas aware about various Bharat Nirman flagship programmes of the central government. He also added that the this platform at the same time is also useful for providing information about the developmental schemes and programmes being run by state government so as to give them their benefits.
Stressing on the need to make the PIC more practical to give benefits of these schemes, he said that such a single platform is very handy for the administration to provide information and to get feedback from the people about progress and implementation of the schemes and programmes of the governments. He noted that especially newly elected pancyati raj representatives would benefit from the campaign, as they could get information and knowledge about schemes being run by them in the future course. Currently there are about 2077 PRIs representatives in the Kangra districts.
On this occasion, In charge PIB Shimla Rattan Lal Negi asked he people to join the campaign, so that department working up the central sponsored scheme could get feedback as well as the technical shortcomingc in smooth implementation of scheme on the ground level.
