Shimla (Feb 3): Two more persons were held by Himachal Pradesh Police today in connection with recovery of huge amount of unaccounted money from Gyoto Tantric Monastery, raising the number of arrests to seven.
Karma Thapa and his wife Rinzin were been arrested at Majnu Ka Tila in New Delhi today, who have been accused of arranging the Rs 1.15 crore seized from Sanjay and Asutosh at Mehatpur border in Una district on January 26, 2011.
So far five persons, including three Indians and one Tibetan, have been booked under sections 417, 420, 468, 171 and 120(b) of IPC.
During raid at the monastery, the investigating agency last week recovered unaccounted foreign and Indian currency worth nearly Rs 7 crore. The most baffling part of the total seizure was the 11 lakh Chinese Yuans and over 600,000 US dollars.
