Second phase of Census about to begin in Himachal

Shimla (Feb 2): To enroll about 80 lakh people of the state in the ongoing Census-2011, the second phase of revision of the rolls is slated to begin from February 9, 2011 in nine districts of Himachal Pradesh.

Balbvir Tegta, director of Census department, informed in a press release issued here today that revision round of census operation for 2011 is beginning in nine districts including Chamba, Kangra, Mandi, Kullu, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Una, Solan and Sirmour from February 9, 2011.

He said that a control room has been set up at CGO complex, Langwood, here which would be keep open from 9 am to 11 pm from January 28 to March 15, 2011, daily to register objections and complaints of people till the winding up the exercise.
