Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal said today that state government apprised the union government about hauling of foreign currency at Gyoto Tantric Monastery at Dharmashala recently.

While reacting over the Karmapa Monastery involvement in the land deal at Dharamshala, Chief Minister told media persons that state government has nothing to do in the issues except informing the centre, as it has to deal with involvement of Karmapa’s aid and its monastery with currency racket foiled by state police recently. He said, “The center government is aware about the issue, investigation is on so I would not like to comment much on this issue. The foreign and home departments of the government of India take care of such issues, they must be aware about it.”

Tibetan Government in Exile and Dalai Lama has directly become the subject of centre, which has also appointed a MHA official at Dharamshala to keep in touch with them from time to time. State police has registered FIR against three persons including close aide of Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorge under Section 420, 418, 468, 171 and 120-B of Indian Penal Code after recovering Rs6.5 Crore foregin currency at two different places.
