Second broadgauge Una-Haridwar train flagged off from Himachal

Shimla: Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal today flagged off Una-Haridwar Link Express at Una adding new chapter to rail service, as it is the second broadgauge train service dedicated to the people in this hill state.

Addressing the flag off ceremony, CM urged Union Railway Ministry, to extend all the trains reaching Nangal in Punjab upto Una in Himachal Pradesh.  Prof Dhumal said that it was the only station with broad-gauge railway line connecting the State and providing people railway transport services.

CM added that on the auspicious occasion of 41st Statehood Day, one more service had been linked with Una. He said that State had been provided with about 40 kms of railway line after independence.

He said that it was during his period as MP that the Una broad-gauge-line was laid in January, 1991. Further adding he said that extension of Jan Shatabdi Express service  upto Una in 2009 also took place when he happened to be the Chief Minister of the State.

Informing the people about the on-going Nangal-Talwara railway line he said that it should be completed in time bound manner, as the railway track upto Amb had been completed.
